JULIA
PASQUALE
Hailing from Northern Virginia, Julia Pasquale is trained in ballet and contemporary styles. She earned her BA in Dance from James Madison University in 2020, and worked with choreographers Matthew Pardo, Cynthia Thompson, Shane O’Hara, along with various guests artists and peers. At JMU, Julia refined her modern and ballet technique under Ryan Corriston and Joyce Yagerline, along with post modern styles such as butoh under Julia Vessey. In 2022, Julia attended “Module” hosted by Sidra Bell, expanding her creative tools and choreographic methods. In 2023, Julia participated in her first of several workshops with the LA based Ground Grooves, enabling her floorwork technique to take precedence in her own dancing and movement design. In Richmond, Julia actively performs and choreographs work with RADAR, and in 2023 initiated the movement ensemble PS Project. Julia has performed in various Richmond Dance Festivals, presenting her own solo, “cold water” in 2022, and most recently, “Revolve“ choreographed by Taylor Black. In 2023, Julia self produced and presented a concert entitled “Personal Space” hosted at Firehouse Theater alongside choreographic colleague, Kathleen Brady. PS Project has since become a resident dance company with Firehouse Theater, most recently presenting “Pretty Please” in December 2024. Continuing residency in 2025, PS Project looks forward to presenting “Fawn” this December.
JULIA’S CLASS…
Julia’s modern class encourages body awareness, release and joyful expression, and floor work exploration. Using the body in ways that are intuitive to the skeleton and freeing to the muscles culminates in a celebration of movement for dancers of various backgrounds and skill level.
